These seed-grown Astrophytum asterias are slow growing, interesting little buttons. They are native to small parts of Texas and Mexico.
Astrophytum grow very slowly. Because of this, plus their distinctive patterns, they are considered vulnerable to extinction in the wild. Asterias are sometimes known as the star peyote because of their resemblance to lophophora, including a lack of spines. Asteria grow in many patterns, some of which like “V-Type” and “Super Kabuto” are prized among collectors.
